I just knew it the moment I saw the tracklist! Quote from Ruki's interview about DIVISION in Shoxx issue 234:
"Certainly, when you'll listen, if you have to say what is typical of the GazettE, I think you'll say "isn't this typical?" the melodic parts are a lot and speaking of tonality, blending them they are dark. Mah, the atmosphere is similar to STACKED RUBBISH or DIM." - Ruki
Hello again um I found a youtube video of the "Derangement" preview it has english subs so the very first words Ruki says I can understand them now and as soon as the video ends it replays itself [link]
I remember when "Before I decay" came out I could understand him completely even now for "toxic" his pronunciation was good so I was surprised in the PV I couldn't tell what he was saying just the last part on the preview oh yes I listened to the audio rip but it wasn't the complete song
Engrish, engrish in every sentence. I personally like Ibitsu better. How it slightly gets calmer towards the end.. It'd be awesome if it had a little bit Ruki screaming after "Ore wo warau yo". That man in DERANGEMENT reminds me of the one in The Suicide Circus. His madman smile, especially.
In the first video even if Ruki can pronounce good English I still couldn't understand what he was saying =3 but I guess I don't mind autotune since we already know he can sing but somehow I can't help but agree with ~dann94 sometimes it's for the money but even so they are getting on the mainstream side in Japan so I could understand their style change but either way I'm okay with this, I just can't wait for their album ^^
Of course it's for the money. I don't think any of our fangirling would pay for Ruki's wardrobe. The thing is, they don't do it for money and money only. About getting mainstream, I don't understand why everybody seems to be against it. I seriously doubt half of their fans would still like them if they abandoned PSC, their new typeset as "the GazettE" and turned back to being "Dainihon Itangeisha Gazetto".
LOL XD well true I know that XD though it's obvious everyone of us has to work to live and you need money for that; well me personally I don't mind if they become mainstream but in my view I also understand why fans hate it, like some fans want a band/music to themselves and don't want everybody else to know them and now everybody is knowing them and I'm guessing that's why they feel that way and I gues is a fangirl thing???......like saying "I knew them before they were famous"
Then they should listen to the underground bands. There is at least a couple of them forming every week. Such a shame that most of them disband before their 1st anniversary. *ahem a DECADE ahem* I really respect those fans who "knew them before they were famous" and still continue to love them after all these years. But I don't think any of them were among those 18 people at Meguro Rock Maykan, exactly 10 years 4 months and 15 days ago from today. In my opinion a true fan should be proud of who they were and what they have become. For the GazettE; they have grown up, their music style and looks have changed and they have become mainstream. Would I listen to their music if they stayed the same, yes. In fact I still listen to Wakaremichi everyday and Ruder is still one of my favorite songs by them. But the change was inevitable and happened. They will continue to change. And I will still love them and listen to their music. Lots of fans accuse one another for liking them "for their looks only". I dont like them for their looks only, neither do I like them for their music only. I like them because they are the GazettE. Even if they change their name, they will still be "that band". "That band I love more than any other."
OMG this is so deep but true, yeah like one of the bands I'm listening to they will disband at the end of this year which is their 5th anniversary and from all the bands that I listen to that are Japanese the GazettE is one of them that I know have lasted a decade. and lol true, I haven't know about gazette until 2009-2010 and what you say is true most fan shouldn't mind and a true gazette fan should know that they keep changing their style, the gazette themselves have said that before, they keep changing styles. and also yeah so true they have grown up they can't be as crazy as they were before. =3
You are not talking about the philharmonic quintet, are you? I wasn't a big fan of them but then again it still makes me sad. They are one of the most original bands I have ever seen.
They cant be as crazy anymore and, now, whenever i see one of their older photoshoots or lives from 2002~6, i cant help but think, they looked like high schoolers back then. They were cute. But I guess it wouldn't be taken as cute anymore if they looked the same. That kind of craziness would look, just, childish.
About them changing their style, isn't that what kept them going until today. Looking at all those Oshare Kei bands, I doubt they will be able to pull of those looks once they are older than 30. But the GazettE's style, they have always looked, correct. They were never too childish but they didn't try to look older than they were either.
yes I am XD they are my fave besides gazette but it made me sad and on the vocalist's birthday they announced that, well he announced it =/ lol yeah ^^ though they did start their band after high school right??? and I guess it's true they will look old when they reach 40
Yeah I hope so. I was expecting a whole different theme judging from the titles. Something more, DIM-like. But I don't think the rest will be like those two. So far, they have announced that, in disc one; Ibitsu, DEPTH and Diplosomia are composed by Ruki, Kago no Sanagi by Kai, Yoin by Aoi, Hedoro and Kagefumi by Uruha. So I believe they will be quite different. Oh and Kagefumi is, as expected of Uruha, a ballad!
yh cuz i think dim has basicly set a big marker in my opinion because its my favourite album by gazette cuz all the songs go well together and can flow really well, but if kagefumi will be ballad then thats gonna be ace,
Yeah DIM is my favorite album too. Also The Invisible Wall is the song that made me love them.
Well, Uruha is the one sparkling this time. I guess Ruki glitter jokes wont work anymore. [link] Ive just seen the cover of Fool's Mate September '12 issue. [link] Why is Reita covering his face like that? His style (esp hair) stayed the same for years and now he's changing it with a fucking hood? Aoi's hair makes me sad too. He keeps cutting it shorter *sob* As for Kai and Uruha, let them keep doing whatever they are doing. I like Kai's long hair and Uruha looks beautiful as always. He needs to lend some of those sparkles to Ruki though. And Ruki's chest, has my approval.. He's been showing it a lot recently, me likes.
I don't mind the autotune personally, as long as we don't lose Ruki's voice to it completely. Their songs are getting more kinda digitally~enhanced, but it's just done to add effect I guess. I'm just really looking forward to the full PVs!
As long as they can carry the awesomeness to the stage.. I'm okay with any kind of enhancement. I liked how they added female vocals too. Filth in the Beauty and Swallowtail on Death Valley, for example. They had to play them back from speakers later during lives. but that's okay, I guess. Aoi and Reita are excellent backing vocals but I didn't really expect them to sing the "the reverse side of beauty" part XD Have you noticed that they are using lots of western models in their PVs lately? I noticed that in Remember the Urge then Suicide Circus, it's almost like they are refraining from showing their faces in PVs. (which is sad) At least Ibitsu makes up for that. Ibitsu also reminded me of Remember the Urge. Just a little, B&W effects and such...
Hmm I don't think that's true. They might be experimenting like they did in TOXIC. Everyone was flipping tables when they heard Infuse Into. "OMG DUBSTEP! WHAT HAPPENED TO GOOD OLD GAZEROCK?!" But the album turned out to be really good. They included lots of old singles though, even Shiver. In the end, it was different but good. This time, there wont be any singles in the album. DIVISION will be consisting of entirely new songs, and of course, there will be a masterpiece, a couple of catchy songs and the rest will be, well, shorter ones. Small fillers. DIM had quite few of them; Erika, Shikyuu, Kanshouku, Mourou... And Nakigahara was the masterpiece. We don't know in which part DERANGEMENT and Ibitsu belong to yet. The previews are too short to come to any conclusions, too. I think they are working really hard and deserve to be where they are today. Not only new single and albums but also there have been, and going to be, lots of lives; Venomous Cell, shortly after Heterodoxy and they are also taking part in Rising Sun Festival. They are putting lots of effort in everything they do. I don't understand why this happens to every band that has gone, even if slightly, mainstream. Older fans start to whine about how they are changing. And newer ones like them for where they are rather than who they are. They will never be able to make everyone happy at the same time. Let's face it.
